"I view Rodeo as a metaphor of Western Civilization. To this end, I avoid the 'Sport' of Rodeo and focus on the people who participate. I feel the struggle to overcome the wilderness that Rodeo represents has become an inward struggle. The participants face from within themselves the only true 'Wilderness' of the modern world. It is with this frame of mind that I approach my work."
